Beside Lidder River, Kashmir, India


How life should be - Life should more be about giving, not receiving. From a travelers' perspective, from the perspective of religion, from a social perspective, all they say is to give. But we humans are something! We hear only to receive! We have become used to receiving. We completely forget, we have to give too!
Now, more than ever, this Covid-19 situation is showing us what life is about. We help, we care, we love. This should be the way, always. Not just in times of turmoil.
Look at nature and what we did to them. We kept receiving from them. We received scenic beauty, we received pleasure and in return, we did give something back, we gave pollution, we gave plastic, we gave murder. But what we should have given was love and care.
I don't know if people will realize this after this pandemic. Many will not stay around to realize. For our own good, for our only home, earth, please, we need to be sincere. We need to give.
The peaceful place you can see in the image is beside Lidder River, in Kashmir. An endless flow of cold, ice melted water, large boulders here and there, fresh air to my lungs and a very few populations around. The meaning of life can be found in such places.

  প্রাচীন স্থাপনাগুলোতে রহস্য থাকে । থাকে না বলা অনেক গল্প, বাসিন্দাদের দুঃখ-সুখের নানা স্মৃতি । বাতাসে কেমন যেন একটা মন খারাপ করা, ছোটবেলা মনে করিয়ে দেয়া গন্ধ থাকে । থাকে গা ছমছম করা আলো -আধারির খেলা । মনে হয় এই বুঝি আমার সামনে দিয়ে লাল পাড়ের সাদা শাড়ি পরা কোন মানবী, কপালের ঠিক মাঝখানে এত্ত বড় একটা লাল টিপ পড়ে, পায়ের নূপুরে রিনঝিন শব্দ তুলে, দৌড়ে চলে যাবে । তার সেই দৌড়ে চলে যাবার মধ্যে থাকবে লজ্জা, থাকবে আকুলতা, থাকবে আহ্বান । আমি আকর্ষিত হই, আমি আপ্লূত হই । বারবার । প্রাচীন এরকম স্তাপনাগুলোর যত্ন দরকার, দরকার পরিচিতি । ছবির বাড়িটি পরিচিত সত্য সাহার বাড়ি নামে । সত্য সাহাকে সবাই মূলত চিনবেন, 'তুমি কি দেখেছ কভু' - গানটির সুরকার হিসেবে ।

আজগর আলী চৌধুরী জামে মসজিদ - Azgar Ali Chowdhury Jam-e Masjid

আজগর আলী চৌধুরী জামে মসজিদ আনুমানিক ১৭৯৫ সালে আজগর আলী চৌধুরী নামে একজন স্থানীয় ব্যক্তি এই মসজিদটি তৈরি করেন এবং উনার নামানুসারে এই মসজিদটির নামকরণ করা হয় ‘আজগর আলী চৌধুরী জামে মসজিদ’। নগরীর হালিশহরস্থ চৌধুরীপাড়া বাজারের থেকে অল্প সামনে, ১০ শতক জমির ওপর এবং প্রায় ৩০ জন মানুষ ধারণক্ষমতা সম্পন্ন ২৫০ বছরের পুরনো মসজিদটি বর্তমানে সংস্কার করে, প্রায় সাড়ে চার কোটি টাকা ব্যয়ে এর পশ্চিম দিকে আরেকটি নতুন মসজিদ তৈরি করা হয়, যার চারপাশে লেকের আদলে এবং দূর থেকে পানির ওপর ভাসমান স্থাপনা বলে মনে হয়। মোঘল স্থাপনাকে অনুকরণ করে তৈরি করা এই মসজিদটিতে রয়েছে ২৪ টি মিনার আর তিনটি গম্বুজ। এই মসজিদটির একটি লক্ষণীয় বিশেষত্ব হচ্ছে জানালার অনুপস্থিতি। এছাড়া প্রবেশদ্বারের আকারও খুব ছোট। কালের বিবর্তনে খানিক মাটিতে দেবে যাবার কারণে মসজিদটি একটু এক পাশে বাঁকা! হয়তো আর বেশিদিন নেই এই ঐতিহাসিক স্থাপনা আমাদের মাঝ থেকে হারিয়ে যাবার। সময়ের পরিক্রমায় আর্কিটেকচারাল জৌলুস অনেকটাই কমে গেলেও এর সামনে যখন আপনি দাঁড়াবেন, সেই সময়ের কথা ভেবে আপনার মন উদাসী হতে বাধ্য। Azgar Ali Chowdhury Jam-e Masjid The mosque was ...

Last couple of days were educative, eye-opening and lifesaving! Words might fall short if I try to describe it in writing! This was truly an amazing experience. Where's Ivan's been lucky enough to get the opportunity to join the Saint Martin Cleanup & Awareness Raising Campaign with an aim to remove 'as much as possible' life-threatening plastic and non-biodegradable waste and create awareness among the locals and the tourists from the one and only coral island in Bangladesh - St. Martin. The event was organized by the largest non-profit travelers community of Bangladesh, Travelers of Bangladesh (ToB). Those who aided and believed in us, those who helped and guided us, those who supported us, the organizers, the community and my fellow volunteers - you are the ones who make Bangladesh great!
